Luca wasn’t really sure how, why or what had happened, all he knew now was that he was very small, well, smaller than he already was anyway. Only about three inches tall, in the walls of a place that rumbled and quaked with footsteps of… what Luca guessed were giants.

He wandered around this place, trying not to be seen, or crushed for that matter, scooting up against walls and scurrying around like some kind of insect…. until he’d finally found a room he thought was unoccupied and he succumbed to the pressure and began to break down in tears.Ā

He knew a day like this would come… and now it had.

Luca followed Patches through the shadowy corridor, it looked like some kind of really tall cellar. Luca kept as close as he could without being too uncomfortable, the last thing he wanted was to lose Patches in the dark, although it could have just been he was afraid of the dark.Ā

Gee, moths looked strange up close… they looked like little fluffy aliens with those large eyes; although the curious wing flutters were kind of cute, and it did draw a smile and an under-breath giggle from the boy once, although he kind of hoped she didn’t plan on being on HIS shoulders anytime soon.Ā

ā€œI-I’m glad… t-those… g-guys out there are really scaryā€¦ā€ Luca said.

ā€œI-I… I hope I’m not too much of a bother to you.. I-I don’t wanna take up too much of your spaceā€¦ā€ he modestly said, as his large, indigo eyes scanned the vacant insides of the Ā wall.

Patches kept an eye on the little one, making sure they were close so they didn’t get lost. Though there wasn’t anyway to get lost in this hallway, it was still better to be safe than sorry.Though Patches did take a glance at him with a small chuckle, finding the suggestion that this small kid would take up any space.Ā

ā€œOH no- Trust me you wouldn’t take up much, if any space. I’ll have enough room for you.Ā ā€œ

They then just about made it to a large metal box- it was blue and white with a medical cross on the top. It the height of it was about twice their size. Patches let them go for a second as he briefly unlocked the clasp in the front and lifted the lid a bit, knocking a stand on it so it’d stay open.Ā

ā€œHere- just climb inside.Ā ā€œ Patches kicked over a small pencil sharper part so Lucas had something to stand on.
