Luca wasn’t really sure how, why or what had happened, all he knew now was that he was very small, well, smaller than he already was anyway. Only about three inches tall, in the walls of a place that rumbled and quaked with footsteps of… what Luca guessed were giants.

He wandered around this place, trying not to be seen, or crushed for that matter, scooting up against walls and scurrying around like some kind of insect…. until he’d finally found a room he thought was unoccupied and he succumbed to the pressure and began to break down in tears. 

He knew a day like this would come… and now it had.

“I-if you’re sure…” Luca replied to Patches. He’d probably end up trying to help the Doctor anyway in due time.

Then he began talking about adapting to the lifestyle of being a few inches tall least Luca could take solace in the fact that he was with someone experienced in living this way, although the part about it being ‘not the safest’ intimidated him to every possible degree.

Then he talked about bringing Luca to a normal size. Things like that existed?… Wow. He really was a sheltered child. 

“Y-you could?…” Luca asked, with a lot of hope now in his voice.

“L-like… like what?” he questioned, not that he probably would understand what exactly the things needed for that kind of thing would be, but that didn’t squash his curiousity.

At his desk he shuffled through some stuff as he took a piece of lead to write things down. Talking casually as he did this.

“Perhaps. I know some of the people here have a prototype of some sort. “

Though they never worked on him properly due to his special cognition- this child didn’t seem to have the same case so there could be a chance of getting back to normal. 

“And when we do, we then will only have to worry about getting you home which shouldn’t be too hard.”

Patches then got up from the desk and put a hand on Luca’s shoulder. Leading him a bit to the sponge bed as Mothra went to land on the top of Patches’s hair. 

“You also look very exhausted, you can have the bed for now, I have some work to do anyways.”
