Luca wasn’t really sure how, why or what had happened, all he knew now was that he was very small, well, smaller than he already was anyway. Only about three inches tall, in the walls of a place that rumbled and quaked with footsteps of… what Luca guessed were giants.

He wandered around this place, trying not to be seen, or crushed for that matter, scooting up against walls and scurrying around like some kind of insect…. until he’d finally found a room he thought was unoccupied and he succumbed to the pressure and began to break down in tears.

He knew a day like this would come… and now it had.

It hadn’t occurred to Luca until now that in fact, most people, tend to sleep at night, unlike him and Alex who were night people who slept at weird hours and had trouble sleeping, or stayed up all night.

Luca took the small bag and looked up at Patches with his large indigo eyes.

“I-I’d love to help!” he said, smiling for the first time in a while.

“What all are we getting?” he asked, tilting his head.

“Just a few things we are going to need.” Patches grinned as he took the needle into both of his palms. Showing luca the small needle that seemed to be as big as a machete. “Now be careful with this- It’s really useful for climbing and getting through things. Also it can be used to defend yourself but hopefully we won’t need to.”

The doctor then took it and looked at the side of the child. Sliding the needle carefully on the side of the bag so it was securely threaded in but it would be easy to pull it out. “There we go!”
