Today was the day that Patches was supposed to come over for dinner, too bad things were about to get a lot more complicated. Host was in the kitchen preparing when he started to feel very strange. There was a distinct sense of vertigo like he was riding an elevator. When it stopped, he knew something was wrong.
He reached for the table he’d been standing in front of previously but found nothing there and began to panic. He started to move around and bumped into a some sort of wooden post which was not a thing he had in his home previously. “Th-the Host feels the strange post, which was actually-” He stopped short, realization dawning on him. Oh no.
He gripped Patches’ hand a little tighter when he started to talk about going outside and having to watch for people. He was nervous about this.
When their walk finally led them to the front doors, he stopped, trying to get a sense for what was outside. “The walk outside of the Host’s library was empty, with no one currently around to see the two adventurers when they step outside,” he reported.
His hand contact had gotten firm when he felt the small squeeze. Trying to help him stay calm. or at least calm enough not to freak out badly to focus on getting to the base. Patches smiled at him when he was magically able to get the report. It was nice having a companion that could know what’s ahead.Â
Once Patches reached the door- without letting go of the Host, he reached out one arm and tried to open it again. It was already hard as it is to open it with two hands but one… He grunted and slowly was able to pull the door open and kept his back on it for Host to pass.
