Many of the amenities of a home were laid out on the upper floor, including a kitchen. It was like an apartment almost. And all the way in the back corner, in a room away from everything else, was a bedroom.

Looking around- he thought it was a nice little place. Obviously bigger than his space which was as big as a small room and nothing else. Patches smiled as he walked across the home looking for his bedroom. “You have a very nice place by the way! It seems cozy.” Patches lightly remarked as he reached to the back room and peeked in. Nodding when he found the bedroom and stepped inside.

When he found the bed- Patches kneeled on his knees and laid the host on the blanket….though.

“Uh…more room to sleep I guess?” He nervously chuckled.

“We’ll go somewhere else then. Somewhere nearby where we can wait. I insist.” He was being pretty persistent and apparently not taking no for an answer. But at least he hadn’t done anything forceful… yet.

Oh gosh. He looked around- now really hoping that someone else was around or something but there seemed to just be him and this strange man in the room alone. He felt like if he tried running for it he would nab him like…

Patches gulped. Staying completely frozen as he tried to think of any excuses. Though he came to a blank. Not wanting to anger this creepy stranger. “I-I mean..I guess there’s nothing wrong with that…untill he get home..”

Patches got off his knees and carefully lifted Host up in his now cupped hands. “Alright let’s get you to bed…uh.” Patches couldn’t tell where his living space was. The doctor walked away from the desk while keeping an eye on his passenger.

“Uh…where do you sleep?”

He had to admit, while he wasn’t normally that fond of touch, having Patches carry him wasn’t so bad. Maybe it was because he liked and trusted the medic. “There’s a second floor.”

Upstairs? Patches walked further in the library and had stumbled upon a row of stairs leading upwards. Patches walked up the wooden stairs as they creeked under his weight. Actually now holding the host by his chest again to make sure not to drop him.

“We’ll see if we can get you to your bed…”

He nodded. “The Host would like that.” They had some time to kill while Patches was stuck in this state anyway. It wasn’t like he’d be getting any work done with the mess he’d made of his desk by resizing the building. Might as well actually rest for once. He never did get enough sleep.

Dark had already figured out that Host wasn’t home. He was sure he would’ve asked him what he wanted by now if he had been. “Patches,” he repeated, like he was trying to commit the name to memory. Though there was something about hearing your name on his lips that could make your skin crawl. “Have you two known each other long? He’s never mentioned you…”

The little guy’s shoulders tensed with uneasiness. Darting his gaze around the room for his friend but it seems he wasn’t home after all. Patches gripped on the cookie while looking down at the floor. “For a little while now… “ It wasn’t new that no one mentioned him. Though it was for the best for no one to know a tiny person that can heal someone indefinitely existed.

“I-I guess he’s not home so I’ll just…come back later.”

“What’s this…?” the BLU mumbled, more to himself than Patches as he pulled down a thick book with yellowed pages and a leather cover. He brushed a layer of dust off of the front. A spellbook. “What do you say we try one of these?” he asked mischievously. “It’s probably all rubbish, anyway.”

Patches was normally up to explore libraries. Though his exovision of this off settling one did strike his nerves. Especially going along with a BLU spy of all people. Not that he didn’t think L was acting like many of his kind so far and was very nice- he had to stay on his tiptoes around him nonetheless.

While exploring the desk by them- Patches looked around an inkwell with a risen eyebrow. Obviously having a bit of a concern with reading random tomes. “I-I don’t think that’s a good idea..” He hesitantly spoke up.

“It must be… I’m already missing it.” he replied with a chuckle, though it wasn’t a happy one.

“Where are we going?” he asked, peeking through the fingers of the taller.

“Well you found the book here so…uh..there has to be a reversal tome somewhere right?”

Patches grinned, trying to instill some faith. Though he was quite nervous himself. He looked around with his eyes and went to the book shelf that L was on and offered his hand to one of the shelves to L.

“How about we search here huh?”

“You promise? Thank you so much, I truly mean it. Let me know if there’s anything at all I can do to repay you once I get back to my normal size, alright?”

Still trembling in fear of being dropped, he clung tighter to Patches’s fingers.

They arched in the finger the small spy was holding onto so he wouldn’t have a chance of falling as Patches stood up. As he looked around it felt so weird being normal again after so long.

“I won’t lie, this is really nice…”
His eyes widened.

“I-I mean my tallness. Not…you..specifically.”

Dark managed to make himself look pleasantly surprised, taking a step forward. “It seems we have a mutual friend then. My name is Dark. It’s a pleasure.” Despite the smile he painted on his face, his eyes remained cold, warmth never properly filling them.

When he took a step forward Patches took a step back- still nervous with the unreal greyness surrounding him. It was strange as Host never mentioned anyone by the name of Dark, though just in case… “Ni-nice to meet you too. Name’s Patches.” He looked around. Wondering if the author was even home.
