“Amazing is a word I wouldn’t choose.” He tapped his cup with his fingers, not wanting to bring up the horrible work ethic he was given. Patches took another sip. “It’s … not an easy job. B-but hey! Bartender work sounds HIC! Fun.”
His body seems to hop a little when the hiccups came.
Patches was normally up to explore libraries. Though his exovision of this off settling one did strike his nerves. Especially going along with a BLU spy of all people. Not that he didn’t think L was acting like many of his kind so far and was very nice- he had to stay on his tiptoes around him nonetheless.
While exploring the desk by them- Patches looked around an inkwell with a risen eyebrow. Obviously having a bit of a concern with reading random tomes. “I-I don’t think that’s a good idea..” He hesitantly spoke up.
Oh no.
Their happiness was short lived as he realized he just damned another person to a life of shortness. Frantically he bent downwards and his hands were shaking.
“Oh my gosh- oh my gosh you’re – so small!! This- has to have been my fault for being around!! ” he gripped his own fluffy hair. Wondering how he was going to fix this mess.
He sipped happily on the soda he was given and spoke out a small “Tack” for her kindness. Though while drinking he watched her clean. Wishing he was a bit more help but he really couldn’t do much about it. Though he did smile at the fact he fact she was making conversation with him.
“Why yes it is being six inches tall and a doc-Hic!”
Patches covered his mouth as a tiny hiccup came from his mouth.

“Oh, it couldn’t be that bad if something were to happen. I’m not even sure if I can pronounce these words…” Unpronounceable words they indeed were, even for someone who could pick up any accent, or learn practically any language. They looked almost Germanic, though. He read one aloud anyway, not thinking about the consequences, and then, the next thing he knew, he was on the floor, but he wasn’t laying down. He looked around, everything seeming gigantic. “Patches!” he cried out, surprised, for the other man was now as tall as a normal human!
Instead of heeding his warning the spy went about trying to read the scripture. While he did this Patches went to the edge of the table.
However before he could speak another word his vision was obliterated by a cloud of green smoke. The doctor coughed wondering what just happened…he got his answer when he noticed everything around him was his size. Patches was only silent for a moment before smiling so widely and tearing up as he looked at his hands. “L!! You…you fixed me!! I can’t believe after all these years I’m back…to…L?” He looked around before he heard the small one’s cry. The doctor gasped. “L?…”

To be fair, he probably would’ve responded that way no matter what size Patches was. Patches might find that his friend had some rather reclusive habits, including a tendency to push people away when upset. But he was trying his best not to take it out on the giant.
Instead he allowed himself to accept the comfort this time, sort of melting into the hand as some more blood ran down his face.
Trying to not be too invasive, he kept his mouth shut from any questions he had as he didn’t want to upset him any further. What tipped him off that made him realize the host was crying due to how he seemed to act a lot like himself when his emotions got the better of Patches.
“Hey, there’s nothing wrong with you, in fact you just saved my life.” He said in a lowered down voice- squeaked a bit when the Host seemed to settle into his hand. Trying to figure out how to help Host feel better. Feeling too large to wipe his tears with a finger, Patches took a look around the typewriter and reached over to rip a tiny piece of paper from a corner of a blank page. Bringing it over to The Host and offered it on a finger.
1. As much as he examines himself daily, Patches doesn’t know everything about his mutation. One of those things is that if actually relaxed and petted he actually does start purring naturally.
2. Despite his height, he needs to consume his weight every single day (8.1 oz). That would be like a human having to eat 150 pounds worth of food a day. Why? His non stop healing was transmogrified from his mass and it takes a lot of energy out of him.
3. Patches was born and raised in the city of Umeå,Sweden and was in the lower class as a child.
4. This comes at no surprise to no one but he wasn’t the most popular kid in school growing up. They were shy and preferred to keep to themselves. Though they didn’t really have a bullying problem either from other kids. Just more or less left to his own devices.
5. Despite multiple times saying he doesn’t like being called cute or talked down to- he actually likes the thought of being pampered but that’d be awkward to ask now wouldn’t it?
6. He is a major book worm! Or at least used to be. Patches likes learning new things and reading historical fiction/detective stories. Though he rarely gets to touch a book nowadays since they don’t come in his size.
7. Don’t ask him what social media he has. Their story takes place during the early 1970s.
8. Mothra sometimes is the one taking care of him when he’s suffering a panic attack or breakdown. Being a rather good insect she drags him away from stressful situations and tries helping him calm down by nuzzling her fuzz on his face and slowly flapping her wings while on his hand so he could fall in a calming trance.
