Thank goodness it finally left him alone. He didn’t see the bug anymore so he was satisfied.

It was about that time that things finally started to connect about why Patches looked so upset. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think you cared about what happened to that moth.” He raised an eyebrow at Patches.

A breath of relief over came him as he realized his moth was safe.. for the moment at least. Though what made him froze was Derian seemed to start to realize what was going on.

“I…I care about a lot of living things.” ‘Not like you’ did come to his mind but he felt like he’d be severely punished for sassy come backs.

He smiled as well. “The Host didn’t consider talking to Patches to be a favor, it was his pleasure.” Even if Patches said he didn’t owe him anything, he was still going to make the mental note to himself to find an appropriate way to make it up to him.

They couldn’t stop smiling with his cheeks being seriously flushed. He was just really- really happy he actually was making a friend. Gosh he didn’t want to go back to Coldfront. “It was a pleasure talking to you as well! I…I hope we can meet again sometime.”

golden-gaze:

A moth’s legs really didn’t feel like anything beyond a tickle. Derian just ended up staring at the thing, looking between it and Patches. Getting harrassed by a moth was not on the list of things he expected to happen today. Granted, neither was finding a tiny man but that was just a happy accident.

“I don’t think this bug likes me very much,” he said while going to flick it off of his hand.

Patches’s breathing only got worse as the hand loomed over the moth to flick it. He flailed and screamed when the bug’s body flew in the air and hit a wall. The doctor shivered in silence- tearing up. Being all locked up as his eyes couldn’t move from his beloved pet’s body on the wall…..

then it hopped on back on it’s legs. It seemed to stall for a moment before crawling up and hid in a ceiling lamp.

guestsinhisworld:

“It can serve as a reminder though… A reminder not to repeat past mistakes.” That was kind of how he’d viewed his injury but Patches was probably right. It was better to move forward. “The Host is in Patches’ debt.”

“Aaaah you don’t owe me a thing vän!” He spoke in Swedish at the end- actually stating that he was a friend. Shaking his head with his hands waving in the air. “Think of it as thanks for .. uh.. talking to me I guess.” He was still grinning.

“They’re easier to deal with at any rate, Patches. Honestly, been doing it long enough myself too..” She said with a grin before getting back on her feet. She picked up one of the dishcloths and started to clean up the bar front.. “Yeah, it’s quieter than this. I shall have to find out where the points of entry are for you, just so you know where to get to..”

The little doctor sat down on the shelf with his legs wobbling of the edge of it. Watching them nonchalantly clean the bar table and awed by the fact she was super calm about this. “Thanks for the offer! Though I wouldn’t want to get into your personal space if it’s as small as you say it is.”

“I’m not like a lot of people, Dr Patches. I was always brought up to treat people with respect regardless of how they seem..”

She could at least relate in certain things, being hurt was one of them.

“I actually live in the apartment upstairs above the bar, so if you happen to find yourself there, you’re welcome there too. It’s not as dangerous up there either as it’s only me living on my own..”

“Oh really?” He was a bit scared of venturing around the building considering he’d only had been in a public area. So he assumed there’d be people everywhere.

“I stayed here because well…it’s pretty easy to get away from tipsy people. That quietness does sound nice though.”

golden-gaze:

Derian looked down, spotting the two of them. What in the world was that moth doing to Patches?

He pulled the medic out of his pocket with the moth holding onto him. He could see the distressed look on his face but wasn’t really sure what the cause of it was. For all he knew he could be scared of bugs.

“Made a friend?”

Nej!

Nej!

Nej!

Nej! -” Patches tried to whisper to his dear pet before being yanked out of the pocket again. It really did hurt him when Derian did that. The doctor kept shaking his head silently as the moth saw that the hand was man handling him and it crawled on the perpetrator’s hand and stabbed it’s legs into the flesh.

He nodded, pulling Patches around in front of him again and holding him up so they could be, well, eye to no eye. “The Host is sure. He used to have pain in his shoulder, now he doesn’t.” He used his free hand to pull his shirt back up. “Thank you.”

When he held up to his nonexistent eyes, he felt  a wave of humbleness as he scratched the back of his head. “Oh-oh well I’m glad I was able to help. It’s nothing really..” He smiled quite widely. “The past shouldn’t keep hurting you…well at least physically.”

Man Patches should take his own advice.

Last but not least- Here’s some Patches with burb love. Requested by @icangiveyouanything!!

Right with the stream spam over- I want to say thank you for all who joined the stream and actually encouraged me to draw. Honestly I was going through a hard time this past month and you guys have helped me cope. This stream was a great idea and honestly I wouldn’t have been able to without the help of @gt-flufftimes. Not sure if I should go into detail but they helped me go in the right direction.

I couldn’t be more gracious and honestly wish I could express how much you guys mean to me.

Thank you.
