Host pulled a book off of the upper shelf, nodding to himself before directing his attention to the shelf Patches was trying to sneak off of. While it was true that he couldn’t see him, he was fully aware that he was there. The narration in his head told him so. “The Host thinks that the small visitor might enjoy this one,” he said, presenting the book he’d retrieved.

It gave him a startle when the man started talking to him and facing his direction. Was he that loud? Patches was frozen in the head lights as his eyes darted from the man’s face to the book without uttering a word for a pause. He was able to start spilling words out of his mouth in a moment though. “You.. can see me? “

golden-gaze:

He just so happened to like those sorts of games. He pushed himself up off the floor but didn’t bother getting all the way to his feet since he’d just have to get back down again to find Patches. Instead he shuffled over to the couch and looked under it. “You know, I could’ve crushed you already but I didn’t. That’s gotta count for something.” Yeah sure, Derian. That’s real reassuring.

He was so tried of running but he had to keep moving. Patches crawled only a few inches before he saw a daunting eye spot him. They let out a weak yell before slipping nearly to the other end of the sofa backwards. “ I- I am not a toy!” He screamed out.

The man stood from his desk, making his way over to where he knew Patches would be. He stopped in front of the bookcase he was on but his attention was on a higher shelf. One might assume he hadn’t noticed the medic but in reality he was looking for something as he trailed his fingers over the books—a recommendation for him.

A shadow loomed over head. Being more attentive than most Patches realized he wasn’t alone. He turned his head and nearly made a surprised squeak before covering his mouth. Quivering a bit- but noticed the cloth over the giants eyes. Thinking it didn’t see or hear him- Patches slowly started to walk backwards to where the hook rope was laying.

and I decided to play around with cheats on a server I made, I load up some skeletons and rode a bumper cart. BUUT- I did wonder if a resizing cheat existed.

Yes.

Yes it does.

Upside: you can change sizes heck yeah
Downside: You’re literally on fire if you have a scorching effect like me or your burb is still on your shoulder.

It’s actually really easy to do. Just hit counsel(~) and type “sv_cheats 1″ then “ent_fire !player setscalemodel {any size of your choice}”

Pro tip: don’t go over 3.4, you’ll see the fourth dimension.

I literALY DONT REMEMBER THIS-

emergencyxexit:

here’s your daily reminder that:

  • what a character says ic is not always what the writer thinks ooc. characters can be wrong, misguided, horrible people and writers do not always agree with what their characters do and say
  • writing ic does not automatically mean projecting one’s own thoughts and ideas about a topic, the character and the writer are two different people entirely
  • playing a villain who has done/does abusive things as a part of their characterization doesn’t mean the writer is excusing abusive behavior irl
  • just because someone writes a villain/evil character does not make the writer a horrible, irredeemable person ooc who genuinely believes every single thing their characters say/do is 100% right. yes, we know when a character is saying/doing something “bad” or “wrong” and we are not saying that it’s okay by any means
  • a mean character can have happy moments in their life unrelated to the nasty things they do. a villain character having other traits/quirks beyond “villainy” makes them no less a threat/no less evil than they are
  • stop getting angry at people for making well-rounded characters with fleshed out details that make them, oh golly gee, human
  • yes, it is completely possible to recognize a character as despicable and evil and still enjoy them for being an interesting, well written character!
  • not taking villains seriously is a major pain in the ass
  • and let’s not forget
  • the most important one:
  • ic =/= ooc

Derian quite literally dove for Patches when he ran, resulting in him landing flat on the floor with this hand outstretched in a likely futile attempt to grab him before he made it out of reach. Though if nothing else, the action probably gave the ground a good shake from Patches’ perspective.

The shake tripped him onto the wood floor- smacking his face rather hard. It even caused a crack in his glasses. He got to his knees but he was really hurt and tried at this point- all he could really do was quickly crawl under the couch and breath harshly as it felt like his heart was going to leap out of his chest. This was a game of cat and mouse- and he was the mouse.
