Derian grinned with his successful catch and he couldn’t help but laugh at the scream. He’d pretty much ruined any chance of getting him to believe his act when he’d used force so he may as well show his pleasure.
“Now what’d you go and do that for? I said I wasn’t going to hurt you.” As he spoke, he brought his captive up to eye level.
He squirmed in his grasp as he tried to push the fingers away- suffering from a panic attack as he was brought eye levels with the too touchy human. His feet stopped kicking n the air when confronted with those eyes that didn’t seem to want to do well. Basically he was frozen in fear. “P-please let me go….I just want to just- leave.”

Your instincts don’t fail you, Patches. This is a literal psychopath whose eye you’ve caught.
When the medic bolted, Derian reacted. He immediately shot a hand out and made a grab for him.
Yikes.
When Patches tried to run off and maybe get back into hiding- he saw a shadow lean over him. even if he was fast as a mouse fingers nabbed him by the torso. Even if it just sounded like a squeak- he was screaming.
Derian gave a mildly amused smirk, crouching in front of him. He was pretty close to him at this point, probably close enough to extend a limb and block any escape attempt. “Are you sure? You look like something’s got you on edge.” As if he didn’t know exactly what Patches was on edge about.
Now he was sweating bullets when he got even closer- for some reasons he was getting bad vibes from this situation. He tried his best not to scream or anything but he was still shaking. “I-I am sure…I’m just gonna-” He then bolted for it.
You just had to love conveniently placed walls, didn’t you? The guy certainly wasn’t backing off, seeming very interested in this small person. “I’m not gonna hurt you.” That was highly debatable. “I just want to help. You seem lost.” His words were nothing but softly spoken lies. He was actually getting a thrill from watching the other cower before him.
“Oh no no no no-” They pulled themselves up with the wall- darting around his glance looking for a way out. Maybe the big didn’t mean harm but he hated taking that chance. “I am perfectly fine just passing through- haha…” Nervously chuckling at the end didn’t seem to put him at ease.
"I'll take care of the 'demons' for you" "Tell me about you." "Ever been in love?" "They asked me if I understood theoretical physis." "He was dead when I got there." "Ever been nosey?" "Come any closer and I'm liable to stick you with my stickin' knife. Ol' Sticky's feeling mighty ornery this day." "I was young and needed the money." "I won the lottery!!" "I'll keep an eye on you, a close eye." "Let's talk about something else." "I hoped love was enough." "Every man is a king in himself." "No one's dick is that fucking long. Not even Long Dick Johnson, and he had a fucking long dick." It's...a thing. A science thing. It hurts robots. Don't worry about it." "I want a dress." "I won't have you lashed to a cross like the rest of these degenerates." "I'd decorate this tent with your guts." "Waging war against good people is bad for the soul." "I left that battle scarred by fear, and have allowed that weakness to govern my actions." "Sorry about that. Just because I love them doesn't mean some of them aren't assholes." "The rapist with the flamethrower? That's a combination I try to avoid." "I never touched the woman/man." "This is as close as I get until you turn into a leggy brunette." "We were pretty young, but I like to think it was love." "I'm really boring actually." " I'll encourage people to name their non-ugly children after you. Seriously." "Lovers make poor confidantes." "Don't you want me to handle your package?"
He had been expecting maybe for an animal to run out from behind the boxes when they were disturbed. Instead what he got was a very human sounding shout.
His gaze fell to the man who rolled out, raising an eyebrow. As soon as his mind registered what he was looking at he felt a wave of excitement but didn’t show it. He immediately changed his expression to something meant to be kind but in his eagerness he was smiling a bit too wide.
“Hey there…” he said slowly, taking a step and closing the gap between himself and the medic.
The tension the medic felt was harsh as the giant was getting closer to him. Being only a foot away from the daunting figure. Off the bat Patches felt like there was something off about him- though he was already skittish around the bigger folk. Patches was backing up even more but come to his horror that a wall blocked him from moving any farther. Patches was shivering and could barely speak as the guy loomed over him. “h-h-hi.”
Unfortunately, the man wandered closer to Patches’ hiding spot, stopping in front of the boxes and just looking at them for a moment. He must not have been in a hurry to get anywhere if he would take the time to investigate such a minor disturbance. After a minute of looking, he delivered a kick to the pile, toppling it.
“AAAH!” It nearly almost squished him but it just missed him and he rolled out from under the boxes as they fell upon them. Shivering as he looked up- realizing he just blew his cover. He let out a squeak and was shuffling backwards. Trying to get up and run.
Sometimes you just couldn’t shake the feeling that you weren’t alone and sometimes that feeling turned out to be surprisingly accurate. Such had been the case when Derian had been out walking and spotted movement out of the corner of his eye. He stopped then, looking in the direction of some old boxes piled up against a wall where he could’ve sworn he’d heard something.
Oh god did he see him?
The small doctor wondered as he was very far from home. Though it wasn’t his luck that he ended up in such a place. He was sweating a few bullets as he couldn’t decide if he should peak or not. Though he ended up not doing it and slunk behind the box shaking. Maybe he will leave sooner or later.
